Held in the ultra-modern and sophisticated Mister C Bar in Toronto’s Bisha hotel, FATMO Media and Pearls & Sequence alongside corporate sponsor Deloitte organized a fashion show aimed at rejuvenating the traditional corporate wardrobe. Put together in only three months, what rough edges we did see were overshadowed by what the designers had to offer.

We loved the venue ( though it was a bit to cozy at times!) As it was the perfect canvas on which to showcase these collections. The dark classic yet modern decor paired with the rich and metallic colour scheme created a luxurious atmosphere making it easy for us to fully immerse ourselves in the show.

Who stood out? Jonah Jay and Kara Louise. These two talented Toronto based designers effortlessly encompassed the essence of femininity, sensuality and feminine power into their designs. Think #bossbabe chic!

Jonah Jay

Designer and founder of Jonah Jay, Jilian Naiberg described her collection as ‘Vegan leather with a bit of sass’ and we totally got that. Her beautiful craftsmanship and figure flattering designs hugged the models in all the right places creating a flawless and feminine silhouette . Her pieces will make you feel good inside and out!

Kara Louise Collection

The best way we can describe Kara Louise Collection is the total reinvention of the classic power suite. Flawless tailoring and vibrant colours, we could not get enough of these elegant pieces. After work drinks? No problem! The versatility and relevancy of these pieces take any #bossbabe from day to night.

Our favourite part? The enthusiasm and dedication of those involved. We could feel the energy and we loved it!

We would also like to give special mention to the Mayer Man collection by Toronto designer Ross Mayer. This collection projected a beautifully rich and vibrant interpretation of the modern business person. Self described as “blurring boundaries between casual and chic, masculine and feminine”. We loved the imagination and creativity of this collection. Styled with seamless layering, mixing of classic patterns and added ‘feminine’ touches such as fur and sequin accents made for a bold statement. The collection is definitely made for the confident and secure man, yet we can also imagine a bold, stylish and trendy women to wear it too. A beautiful and relevant fashion offering.
